Why not just draw black boxes?
In most PDF editors a black box is a sticker on top of the text. The text is still there, and anyone can copy it out or delete the box. Blackbar rebuilds each page as a clean image with the details burned out, and strips hidden metadata and photo location data.
Is it really private?
Yes. There's no server to upload to. Your file is processed by code running in this tab, and this page's security policy blocks it from sending data anywhere. Close the tab and it's gone.
